SuNAM Discloses VEIR and a Second US Buyer for Its Superconducting Wire
South Korean tape maker SuNAM (서남) has disclosed two contracts in two months to supply high-temperature superconducting (HTS) wire to US customers, and one of them names VEIR. The contracts are small in cash, at ₩430 million and ₩662 million, but together they equal about a third of SuNAM’s 2025 revenue. The second customer is unnamed and has bought from SuNAM before.
SuNAM is supplying wire to VEIR under a three-month contract
On 14 July 2026 SuNAM disclosed a supply contract for superconducting wire products with VEIR, Inc. It is worth ₩430 million, equal to 13% of SuNAM’s recent revenue of ₩3.39 billion, and runs from 13 July to 13 October 2026.
VEIR is a US company developing superconducting power delivery for data centres. We covered its 3 MW superconducting power demonstration for AI data centres in November 2025 and its US$75 million Series B in January 2025. The disclosure makes SuNAM a named wire supplier to VEIR. Data centres are one of the markets on our applications page.
A second US order equals 20% of SuNAM’s 2025 revenue
On 4 September 2026 SuNAM disclosed a contract to supply second-generation HTS wire for delivery in the United States, CBC News reported. The order is worth ₩662 million (₩662,348,400), or US$487,200 at the Seoul Money Brokerage rate of ₩1,359.50 per dollar that day, and equals 20% of SuNAM’s 2025 standalone revenue of ₩3.39 billion. It runs from the purchase order date of 4 September 2026, with delivery due in February 2027.
The customer’s name is withheld under a confidentiality agreement until 10 February 2027. According to the same report, SuNAM has carried out similar contracts with this customer within the past three years. Our explainer on how HTS tape is made covers second-generation tape.
Small orders are a large share of a small company’s sales
Neither contract is large in absolute money: the second is worth less than US$500,000, and the first is smaller. Against revenue of ₩3.39 billion, they are equal to 13% and 20% of sales, about a third combined.
SuNAM was founded in 2004 and is based in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. It is listed on KOSDAQ under code 294630. At its size, a single US wire order of a few hundred million won equals a double-digit share of annual revenue.
